Here's a quick post just to show you our wedding invitations. Very
simple and most importantly very cheap. If you have ever priced wedding invites
then you know they can be pretty pricey especially if you want something unique
or personalized.
I really wanted Joe and I to get
engagement photos; but then after we got them I wondered what I would do with
them. Joe kept telling me we should use them for our invites; but I did not
like the idea of photo wedding invites. I searched and searched the internet
for cheap wedding invitations but everything was either too expensive, too
cheap looking, or just didn't catch my eye. So, I finally gave into Joe and I
went to Walgreen's website and started making our invites. I chose Walgreen's
because at the time they were having a special plus I think I had a coupon for
a certain percent off. Also, at the time they were the only photo making
website that would get my invites to me in the time frame I needed.
Joe came up with the wording for our invites. If you have ever
read something he has written or listened to one of his speeches you know Joe
is extremely good with words...he is such a motivator and he knows how to say
things in a way that won't offend others. I wish I had his skill with words.
Sometimes I am so awkward in public when I speak or send an email and I know I
make people feel uncomfortable; but I promise I'm not trying to make them feel
uncomfortable. It's something I am working on :)
We wanted to make sure that people knew that our wedding was very
casual and that there was not going to be a sit down dinner. We had to have the
wedding later in the day so that it wasn't so hot for our guests but we also
wanted to let them know that we would not be feeding them dinner. It was partly
a money thing, partly a "we don't have enough time to plan this"
thing, and partly a "one less item to stress over" thing. I
know that some people think it is rude not to feed your guests a
"real" dinner; but I don't think our guests minded plus we warned
them. I also think it depends on your guests. Most of our guests were farmers
and country folks and I know a lot of them were probably happy with a short,
quick wedding so they could get home and do chores or just enjoy their Saturday
night.
What do you think...what are your
thoughts on food and wedding guests?

I liked the food idea at your wedding. I don't think it is necessary to feed everyone at a wedding. Weddings are expensive and if you are paying for it yourself it is just one more expense. I thought you guys came up with a clever idea. I don't like formal dinners at weddings they make me nervous. We had sandwiches and chips at ours. It made it more relaxing and gave us more time to visit with people.
Hey!! I loved these flowers. They are adorable. I was looking for a nice wedding dress for my big day at one of wedding venues and was really happy to find gorgeous dress. Everyone liked the dress and appreciated the design too.
