Snow Days and Proposals

I am going on snow day #2 this week. The first day was icy and today we are supposed to get 6-10 inches! Just got the call...snow day #3 tomorrow! I usually love snow days but this year our school decided to take make-up days from our Spring Break instead of tacking them on to the end of the year. I personally would rather add them to the end of the year; but I do understand from an educational stand point why they chose to do it this way. I, however, will now have to take two days off during Spring Break to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! I know what you are thinking..."You're an adult; do you really need to take off for a silly holiday that involves wearing green, drinking, and leprechauns?"...my answer is "YES!” but not for the above mentioned reasons. This is my husband and I's holiday (am I allowed to claim a holiday for myself?). This is when we celebrate our anniversary...not our wedding anniversary; but our "I love you!" anniversary; which to us is more important than our actual wedding anniversary.
2011: First St. Pat's Day together
We went to an Irish pub; you could tell we both thought it was too early to say the "L" word...we had only been dating about a week; but when you know you know!

My husband took me back to the same Irish pub and asked me to marry him in the almost exact spot he said he loved me for the first time!

Joe, my husband, is the basketball
coach at the school where we both teach.

In my next post I will show you our DIY budget friendly wedding!

Enough about me: How did your husband or wife propose to you?

Here's my dog, Daisy, in the snow.

I helped make that proposal possible. I think you need to write a post about your awesome twin sister!

Maybe I will; but that would require me posting pictures of you...what do you think about that?

Old pictures, no problem!

That is really sweet. Kyle asked me to marry him on the 3 years to the day of our first day at the same restaurant we went to on our first date. That day is still special to me every year, just as special as our actual wedding day. Enjoy your time off and I agree I would much rather see the days added on at the end of the year.

Annie, I am a romantic at heart and I love to hear about couples' proposals especially when they are well executed like how Kyle proposed to you. I think sometimes men think they need to do something big and flashy...but I think most women are pretty sentimental and a man needs to consider that when coming up with the proposal.
